SALT SPRING SINGERS 2020 - Henry Tabbers, design
Would you like to sing in a choir but don't quite know how to go about it?
On this page you can find out what the Salt Spring Singers have to offer to people like you who love to sing. We have two seasons: in January, we start up to work towards our Spring concert in May. Then, after a summer break, we meet again in September to start rehearsing for our Christmas concert.

Our Spring concert is held on the first or second weekend of May and registration for the season is scheduled for the first or second Tuesday of January, between 6:15 and 7 p.m., at the Salt Spring Baptist Church, 520 Lower Ganges Road, our regular rehearsal location.

Our Christmas concert is held on the first or second weekend of December and registration for that season is scheduled for the first or second Tuesday of September, between 6:15 and 7 p.m.

After registration, there is an informal get-together where we'll hear what Don Conley, our musical director, has planned for us.
At that time we may have a first peek at some of the music
scores that have been handed out to us.

Rehearsals are held from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday evening. There is plenty of parking in the front and also in the back of the church, but, as the choir has grown in size, it is advisable to arrive fairly early as the available spaces get filled up quickly.

The choir welcomes singers in all registers: soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass, but we are always in need of lower voices, particularly baritones and basses.

You don't need to audition to join the choir and, while being able to read music is undoubtedly an asset, it is not essential to being a member. You'll be able to master your parts with the help of music files, provided on this website.
